Penelitian Pada Kawasan Teknologi Pembelajaran

Teknologi pembelajaran pada dasarnya merujuk terkait penggunaan teknologi dalam proses belajar-mengajar, seperti penggunaan perangkat lunak, aplikasi, perangkat keras, dan media digital untuk meningkatkan efektivitas dan efisiensi pembelajaran. Selain itu, teknologi pembelajaran merupakan proses yang kompleks dan terpadu yang melibatkan orang, prosedur, ide, peralatan, dan organisasi untuk menganalisis masalah, mencari jalan pemecahan, melaksanakan, mengevaluasi, dan mengelola pemecahan masalah yang menyangkut semua aspek belajar pada manusia. Rumusan definisi teknologi pembelajaran telah mengalami beberapa kali perubahan, sejalan dengan sejarah dan perkembangan dari ruang lingkup bidang garapan dan profesi teknologi pembelajaran. Menurut AECT (Association for Educational Communications and Technology), Teknologi pembelajaran adalah studi dan praktek tentang merancang, mengembangkan, menggunakan, memelihara, dan mengevaluasi proses dan sumber daya untuk belajar. Teknologi pembelajaran mencakup teknologi yang digunakan untuk mengelola instruksi, mengirimkan informasi, dan memfasilitasi komunikasi. Teknologi pembelajaran dalam arti sempit bisa merupakan media pendidikan yaitu hasil teknologi sebagai alat bantu dalam pendidikan agar berhasil guna, efisien dan efektif. Berikut adalah beberapa contoh bagaimana teknologi pembelajaran dapat mempengaruhi proses belajar-mengajar:

  1. Meningkatkan aksesibilitas: Teknologi pembelajaran memungkinkan pembelajar untuk dapat belajar dari mana saja dan kapan saja, selama mereka memiliki akses internet dan perangkat yang dapat terhubung. Ini memungkinkan pembelajaran jarak jauh dan fleksibilitas yang lebih besar bagi pembelajar yang memiliki jadwal yang sibuk atau yang tinggal di daerah terpencil.
  2. Meningkatkan interaktifitas: Teknologi pembelajaran dapat memungkinkan pembelajar untuk terlibat dalam pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan menyenangkan, seperti menggunakan permainan pembelajaran, simulasi, atau video. Hal ini dapat membantu pembelajar untuk lebih memahami dan mempertahankan informasi.
  3. Meningkatkan efisiensi: Teknologi pembelajaran dapat membantu guru dan dosen untuk mengelola waktu dan sumber daya dengan lebih efisien, seperti dengan penggunaan perangkat lunak manajemen kelas atau sistem penilaian otomatis.
  4. Meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran: Teknologi pembelajaran dapat membantu guru dan dosen untuk memberikan pembelajaran yang lebih disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan pembelajar, seperti dengan penggunaan program pembelajaran adaptif. Ini dapat membantu pembelajar untuk mampu belajar dengan ritme mereka sendiri dan menemukan cara pembelajaran yang paling efektif bagi mereka.

Dengan demikian, penggunaan teknologi pembelajaran dapat memperluas dan meningkatkan pembelajaran di kelas dan di luar kelas, serta membantu pembelajar untuk mencapai potensi belajar mereka secara maksimal.

Peningkatan teknologi pembelajaran sebagai ilmu dan profesi ditentukan oleh kawasan dan bidang garapan. Terkait bidang garapan dimaksud yaitu; mengembangkan, menerapkan, membuktikan dan memperbaiki teori berdasarkan masukan dari lapangan. Maka hal ini teknologi pembelajaran dapat dipandang sebagai suatu disiplin ilmu, bidang garapan, dan profesi. Sehingga kawasan penelitian teknologi pendidikan sangat luas sekali bahkan boleh dikatakan hampir tidak terbatas, sepanjang penelitian itu berkaitan dengan pemecahan masalah belajar. Penelitian adalah proses penemuan yang mempunyai karakteristik sistematis, terkontrol, empiris dan berdasarkan pada teori serta hipotesis. Artinya penelitian adalah suatu kegiatan yang dilakukan secara sistematis untuk mengumpulkan data dengan menggunakan metode dan teknik tertentu dalam rangka mencari jawaban atas permasalahan yang dihadapi. Merujuk pada definisi teknologi pembelajaran adalah sebagai teori dan praktek tentang perancangan, pengembangan, penggunaan, pengelolaan dan pengevaluasian dari suatu proses dan sumber-sumber untuk belajar, maka bidang penelitian yang dapat dilakukan dalam ruang lingkup teknologi pembelajaran dapat dikategorikan dalam lima bidang yang saling terkait antara lain; desain, pengembangan, pemanfaatan, manajemen, dan evaluasi proses, sumber dan sistem pendukung untuk belajar.

Dengan demikian, teknologi pembelajaran dapat mengacu pada semua ilmu pendidikan terapan yang valid dan andal seperti; peralatan, proses dan prosedur yang berasal dari penelitian ilmiah. Dalam konteks ini secara teoritis, algoritmik atau heuristik tidak selalu diartikan sebagai teknologi fisik. Akan tetapi teknologi pembelajaran adalah proses mengintegrasikan teknologi ke dalam proses pembelajaran dengan cara yang tepat dan positif dalam mempromosikan lingkungan belajar yang lebih beragam bagi siswa untuk belajar melalui pemanfaatan teknologi.

Dalam era digital yang semakin maju seperti sekarang, teknologi pembelajaran menjadi semakin penting. Berikut adalah beberapa hal yang perlu dipertimbangkan ketika menggunakan teknologi pembelajaran:

  1. Memilih teknologi yang tepat: Ada banyak jenis teknologi yang dapat digunakan dalam proses belajar mengajar, seperti aplikasi pembelajaran, video tutorial, dan lain sebagainya. Penting untuk memilih teknologi yang tepat untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran yang diinginkan.
  2. Memastikan ketersediaan peralatan: Teknologi pembelajaran membutuhkan peralatan yang memadai, seperti komputer, perangkat mobile, koneksi internet, dan sebagainya. Pastikan bahwa peralatan yang diperlukan tersedia dan dapat digunakan secara efektif.
  3. Pelatihan dan dukungan: Guru dan staf pendidik harus dilatih untuk menggunakan teknologi pembelajaran dengan baik. Selain itu, mereka juga membutuhkan dukungan dari pihak teknis jika terjadi masalah teknis.
  4. Evaluasi: Teknologi pembelajaran harus dievaluasi secara berkala untuk memastikan bahwa tujuan pembelajaran tercapai dan teknologi yang digunakan masih relevan dan efektif.

Dalam penggunaan teknologi pembelajaran, terdapat beberapa faktor penting yang perlu dipertimbangkan, seperti yang telah disebutkan di atas. Namun, selain faktor-faktor tersebut, terdapat pula beberapa hal lain yang perlu diperhatikan dalam pemanfaatan teknologi pembelajaran, antara lain:

  1. Tujuan Pembelajaran: Sebelum memilih teknologi yang tepat, perlu dipahami terlebih dahulu tujuan pembelajaran yang ingin dicapai. Dengan menentukan tujuan pembelajaran yang jelas, pemilihan teknologi akan lebih tepat sasaran dan dapat meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran.
  2. Ketersediaan Konten yang Berkualitas: Teknologi pembelajaran membutuhkan konten yang berkualitas dan sesuai dengan kurikulum yang berlaku. Penting untuk memastikan ketersediaan konten yang berkualitas dan relevan, sehingga proses pembelajaran dapat berjalan dengan baik.
  3. Keterlibatan Siswa: Teknologi pembelajaran dapat menjadi lebih efektif jika siswa terlibat aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, perlu dipertimbangkan teknologi yang dapat mendorong keterlibatan siswa, seperti platform pembelajaran interaktif atau game edukasi.

Dengan memperhatikan hal-hal tersebut, teknologi pembelajaran dapat memberikan dampak dan manfaat yang besar bagi proses belajar mengajar serta dapat meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan.

Hal yang perlu ditekankan dari penelitian teknologi pembelajaran dibandingkan dengan penelitian pada jurusan lain yaitu penelitian tentang teknologi pembelajaran memungkinkan harus memiliki implikasi yang lebih luas dalam memperbaiki pengalaman dan keterlibatan belajar yang sejalan dengan era digital yang semakin berkembang.
